Felt Whipper

Dryer Gears

Open spur type w/ bottom dryer deck gears made with nylon tooth sections, upper dryer deck consisting of CI dryer gears.

Steam Joints

Johnson #3550SBPQ, 2” Super self-supporting rotary pressure joints w/ ¾” Johnson syphon elbows.

Cooling dryers (used for steam or water) has Johnson #3300SAQ rotary pressure joints on front for steam or water, 2-1/2” Johnson #3600SBPQ joint w/ syphon pipe on back side

Spring Roll

12-5/8”diameter steel pipe to regulate amount of tension in the sheet.

Retainer Roll

8-1/2”ø x 163” Face steel pipe, mtd on last Dryer Roll.  Keeps the sheet from falling back when threading the Calendar and during breaks.

Calendar Stack

24”ø x 159” Face, (2) Roll open side stack chilled iron Rolls.  Top Roll is driven mtd. stationary on a calendar frame.  Bottom Roll mtd. on pivoted arms and air loaded.

Max Pressure = 350 PLI.  Bottom & Top Roll equipped w/ Lodding non-Oscillating doctor.

Spreader Roll

Reel Drum Roll

Constant speed Black Clawson Autoflyte36, utilizing pneumatic operation w/ manual control.  Lodding non-Oscillating manually operated doctor.  May be used as a cooling cylinder as it is equipped with a rotary joint allowing water to enter the drum and a syphon to remove the water.

Single Rope Carrier System

Includes wrench adjusted take-up stretcher.  For carrying the sheet underneath the Spreader Roll and around the Reel Drum.

Empty Spool Rolls

Used to create Felt rolls.

Transfer Rails

Transfers the full Spool Rolls to the Unwind Stand.

Unwind Stand

Black Clawson single position, can manage 84”ø reels of paper on 15-7/8”ø face reel spools from the Autoflyte reel.  Frame is heavy CI constructed and supports the bearing saddle assemblies.

DC Electrical Brake System

To apply tension to the sheet when unwinding.  Horton Governor Controlled Brake,

Model #24-2SW mtd. on concrete pier behind machine, water cooled.

Winder

TD series consisting of heavy semi-box type CI top and bottom frame.

Rewind Drums

(2) drums constructed of steel, grooved w/ chevron type grooves.  Front drum has spiral grooves to aid in roll separation.

Rider Roll Assembly

Driven at a slight overspeed to give additional load on the paper roll. 

Fixed Shear Assembly

Mtd. on lower frame.

Idler Rolls

(3) Rolls to support the sheet into the Winder.

Operator’s Control Console

Floor mounted.

Roll Ejector

Power operated to remove finished sets of paper rolls from the Winder.

Roll Lowering Table

Tilt type for discharging finished rolls from the Winder to the floor level.  Hydrualically operated.

Rider Roll

Rides on top of the Winding roll of paper to control the hardness or density and to prevent bouncing of the paper roll.

FELT MACHINE DRIVE

DC Motor Line Drive

Machine is driven by DC motor connected to a lineshaft extending the length of the paper machine.

Gear Case

Black Clawson SOC Drive consisting of spriral bevel gears, compound helical gears.

Line Drive Clutch

Air operated, Fawick Model #11.5 VC500, incorporating a rubber tube and replaceable friction segments installed in the inner surface.
